I couldn't be more excited
I took time last night to knit a proper swatch for Sizzle
. Today, I casted on and have knitted 3 rows and though it's not much...so far, it's beautiful (if I do say so myself). =o)

I love shopping...
As I mentioned before...I have abandoned knitting Honeymoon Cami. For whatever reason, we don not get along. I don't like the way it was coming out and at this point don't see a reconciliation in our future...SO, I decided to pick something different to knit for my cousin. I have decided on Ribby Cardi
from Chic Knits. I bought the pattern a couple of days ago...took a look at it and a ton of blogs of others who have knit it...and I think I am now ready. I just ordered the yarn (elann.com's Peruvian Highland Wool) I will need...in 2 beautiful colors of blue (antique for the body and tapestry for the sleeves). I can't tell you how excited I get about ordering new yarn!! I ran into a moment of panic, when after I placed my order, I went back to check it and realized I ordered all the yarn in the same color. Thankfully, I checked...I quickly sent an email explaining my mistake and am happy to report that it has already been corrected and my yarn will be on its way tomorrow.
On other knitting news, I have started knitting Retro Redux Shrug 3 times already. I finally thought I had it right, when I found yet another mistake...DAMN!! I hope I get it right next time. I haven't really worked on anything else...I started the booties for Sandy...but tried something new and didn't like it so I ripped them out (no big deal, I was only about 4 rows in). I'm hoping to get something going soon, though thanks to the wonderful people in knitting
, I realized that I need to re-swatch for my Sizzle...so I may wind up working on that tonight. We shall see.

My Honeymoon Cami is not coming out as well as I had hoped. I'm up to the V-neck shaping and have one section completed. The yarn isn't as tight as I would like it to be...and it also doesn't look quite right. I plan on finishing, but as I have become annoyed and jaded with this project, I decided to start something new.
Last night, I ran across a pattern I had printed to use for my mom's scarf. I was looking through some patterns I has printed when I found the printout of Two Weeknights with Warrick
. Personally, I don't think I'm as fast a knitter as the girl who made this pattern, but it certainly easy enough to get my mind off the frustration of Honeymoon Cami.

Progress on my Honeymoon Cami is coming along nicely. After frogging it last Monday, I started it again Tuesday and I'm now a mere 3 rows from beginning to shape the V-neck(s). I'd be there already, but I guess the heat warped my mind and I forgot one of the increases, so I had to unknit about 4 or so rows, nothing too bad.

I just ordered this beautiful yarn from Yarn Snob
. It's called Blushing Coconut and is fingering weight 100% Pure Merino Yarn. I haven't decided what I want to make with it yet, but I'm sure the final product will be gorgeous...how could it not be?This yarn is actually a special request I made after not getting the yarn in my icon.

So...yesterday I pulled out my honeymoon cami
at the game to work on it a bit. I got to the bust shaping section...and had an epiphany as to the mistake I thought I made in the hip shaping. And so...I had to frog down about two-thirds of the way down...then I started and realized I STILL had another boo boo another couple of rows down. Then I decided to frog the whole thing since I wasn't terribly thrilled with how the border had turned out (it was slanted for some unknown reason). Now it's back to the drawing board and though I was more than annoyed last night, I am actually pretty excited about starting over since 1. I feel like I know what I'm doing now and 2. have an idea or two of something I'd like to do differently.

While on my trip to Boston and NY, I had to stop in a yarn shop, or 2 (the first one sucked), and I picked up yarn to make a couple of baby beanies. Kristie really wanted a "little pumpkin" beanie from Itty-Bitty Hats
by Susan B. Anderson for her niece. I obliged and here is the finished product...I think it's SO adorable that I wanted to knit some more baby beanies and have already also finished a strawberry beanie.( Peter, Peter, Pumpkin EaterCollapse )
I made this for my friend (she's the headless wonder...LOL), who now lives in Boston...I just went to visit her last month.
And another pair of booties for a friend at work
I've decided that I want to make a journal just for my completed knitting projects. Since I hope to keep everything here, I am going to post everything I have previosly posting in my personal journal.
I knited these in May 2006 for my Angel baby friend, Sage...he's getting so big now, I know these don't fit anymore. =o)( Awww...baby bootiesCollapse )
